The long awaited update...

Well... we have been accepted by YFC and it looks like we are going to be assigned to George, South Africa! Things have been crazy since we got back from Colorado. We were going to take a Tuesday night class at Horizon, but we found out about 30 minutes before our first class session that Tuesday nights is our pre-marital counseling night, so no Tuesday night theology class for us! School has been great so far though, God is working so powerfully in our lives through the class that we are taking on Thursday nights at Horizon. It is a class called spiritual formation, and it's definitely going to live up to its name in our lives this semester! Me and Lauren are just busy busy now with school and trying to get on top of the wedding planning seeing as though we get married in just a little over 3 months from now!!!

To sum up Colorado, and candidate orientation, it was amazing! Thank you so much to all of you who were praying for us! Your prayers were definitely felt throughout the week. There were a couple of times that Lauren and I told each other, "I can tell people are praying for us back home." Thank you!

Sorry for the lack of updates throughout the week. Every time "blog posting" time came around I passed out fast asleep!

Here is a slideshow of photos from the trip! Enjoy! : )
Take care all!

Update!

Hello all!

Sorry it has been a few days since the last update! We have been falling asleep here before getting to type out an update! We will have quite a few pictures to upload tonight, so check back then, but currently logged on to the office computer here at the YFC office, so can't upload them right now! But definitely check back tonight! : )

It has continued to be a great week. Little bit of a tough day on Tuesday, but lots of good has come from it, and God is continuing to do a big work in both of our hearts! We had counseling appointments at a counseling center that deals specifically with missionaries, so it was a great help but a new experience for us at the same time! Yesterday was all about Human Resources and sort of the logistics, and behind-the-scenes stuff about YFC and going on staff as a full time YFC Missionary.

We have SO much stuff to share, so many lessons and things we are learning! Hopefully we can update you all tonight with pictures and some of the lessons we have been learning! We are on someones computer, so don't want to be a computer hog! : )

Hope all is going well for everyone who is staying up to date with us! I'm sure most of you are staying fairly warm. It has been COLD here! We had some snow yesterday, so that was pretty cool, nothing huge, just some light fluffy stuff falling out of the sky! : )

Anyway all... take care and blessings, and check back in later on today!

Love Jeremy & Lauren

Pictures from Saturday!

Thanks again to all who came!

Day 1!

Wow, it was a long day, but so so incredible and rewarding! Thank you SO much for all of you who are praying for us. What can we say, God is faithful! : )

We started out bright and early, and had breakfast down in the lobby area of the hotel. It was nice because we finally got to meet some of the people we have been working with for the past few months, and were able to put faces to names!

We basically got started right away once we arrived at the Youth for Christ headquarters. We learned a GREAT deal even just today, but a large portion of the day was focused on the reporting of our personality tests, and understanding a little bit of who we are based on the Myers Briggs, and I believe, Taylor Johnson assessments that we took prior to coming to Candidate Orientation (CO). But basically... I'm an INFP and Lauren is an ENFJ (for anyone that knows anything about the Myers Briggs). We will have to share the tests with you when we get back, it's quite helpful actually, so be excited! : )

But wow, seriously thank you to all of you who are praying! God is speaking to us, and affirming things in such clear ways! (Please pray that this would continue to happen, and that we would be able to listen, and hear His guidance throughout this week!) We have to admit, this clarity in some ways is a little scary. We just had a talk about how we feel this call is no short-term call. God is definitely doing something big in our hearts, and we are being brought to a place in which we are really really really going to have to step out in faith, being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see, and believe that God exists and that He does reward those who earnestly seek Him (Hebrews 11:1;6).

We have some counseling ahead tomorrow, so not too sure what all is involved, but excited for another day!

Time for some sleep!

Take care all! : ) Will have some better pictures tomorrow, but here are some pictures of us preparing for CO:

Hello Denver!

Firstly,

Thank you so much to all of you who gathered to support us and be together last night! There is definitely nothing more encouraging than being here, knowing that we have a big family that is behind us!

We got to Los Angeles at about 3am last night (or this morning I guess!) and then woke up around 5am to catch our flight to Denver! So... we are rather tired, but very excited for the week ahead!

It's been an interesting day. The trains that transport you from terminal to terminal at the Denver airport play little musical jigs and speak to you in very animated ways, so that was a nice way to be welcomed to Denver! We took the Denver Super Shuttle to the airport and discovered that our driver used to play in a band in LA that toured with Motley Crue. But anyway! We are here safe in Denver, and are all tested out. We had to take another personality test when we arrived that was a little over 500 questions, but we are finally done with all the testing!

Looking forward to what tomorrow and the rest of the week holds! Will keep you posted, and hopefully have some pictures to share too!

Thank you for your prayers and continued encouragement!

We love you all!
